A ‘compact and bijou’ Truro Leisure Centre was the venue for the first round of the Cornwall and West Devon. A challenging opposition came in the form of Truro City, Carn Brea and Dinnaton. Considering some of our swimmers were young and untried in competition it was a valiant effort from them all.

The boys 15/U Freestyle relay of Tom Morse, Peter Gates, Nat Chartres and Tom Mermegan gained 1st place as did the girls 11/U Freestyle relay team Sinead Davies, Kerry Hayes, Kirsty Dinham and Natalie Jarry.

There were some good individual efforts from Sinead Davies (2nd 11/U 50m Breaststroke), Tom Morse (2nd boys 15/U 100m Freestyle) and Ryan Moreno-Chamorro (2nd 15/U 100m Breaststroke).
