Devonport were hosts for the second round of the Cornwall and West Devon league.
One minutes silence was respectfully observed by all teams in recognition of Don Cobb, Devonport’s chairman who sadly passed away last week. Don had given over 50 year’s service to the club and will be greatly missed.
Tough opposition came from Kingsbridge Kingfishers, Bodmin Dragons and Newton Abbott.
Sinead Davies took a comfortable win in the 11 and under 50m breaststroke in a time of 42.20.
The girls 15 and under medley relay team also clinched top spot, Jade Leeke ,Sam Wilkes, Abby McBeath and Abbey Ward in a time of 2:31:89.
Lee Cobb was edged into a tight second for the open 100m backstroke, 1:07:09. Sam Bowden matched this performance in the 13 and under 50m freestyle, 33.76.
Tom Morse was in second place for the 15 and under 100m freestyle in a time of ,1:00:51. Kirsty Dinham also clinched 2nd spot in the 11 and under 25m butterfly (19.26.) Joining Kirsty in the 11 and under medley relay team were Rachel Ward Kerry Hayes and Sinead Davies who also went on to take 2nd place, 1:19:30.
Final placings had Devonport in 4th with 87 points, Bodmin followed with 107 points Kingsbridge took 2nd with 152 points and Newton Abbott 1st with 160 points.
